With no ice time under their belts – or blades – the Delta High School hockey team loaded up and headed to Polar Ice in North Pole on Saturday for the North Pole High School Jamboree.

The Huskies opened the day with a 2-0 victory over West Valley. Gunnar Harker put Delta on the scoreboard, and Isaiah Korovnik added an empty-net goal to secure the win.

Delta's second matchup was against the Monroe Rams. The Rams managed to squeak out a 1-0 victory when a slow-moving puck crept into the net from the side, giving Monroe the only goal of the game.

The final matchup pitted the Huskies against their archrivals, the North Pole Patriots. Despite playing with a short bench and taking the ice for their third and final period of the day, the Huskies held the Patriots to just two goals.

The team is heading to Palmer this weekend to compete in the Stars and Stripes Tournament.
