Ice time ahead for Delta/Greely area

Pull out the skates, sharpen those blades, and air out the pads. Registration is officially open for the 2026-2027 ice hockey season.

The Delta Skating Association welcomes skaters (beginners and seasoned) starting at four years up through 16 years of age. Ages 4-6 are 6U, ages 7-8 are 8U, ages 9-10 are 10U, ages 11-12 are 12U, ages 13-14 are 14U, and ages 15-16 are 16U.

Dryland skating will begin next month and transition to the Liewer-Olmstead Ice Arena when it is cold enough for ice making, which is normally in November.

8U and older teams will play 20-30 games per season. The season typically ends in March. Most games are on the weekend with some away games typically in Fairbanks and the Anchorage areas.
