  • Pavel Ivanovich Budnik, 33, was charged October 9th in the Fairbanks District Court with one count of assault in the fourth degree, two counts of violating conditions of release, and one count of harassment in the first degree. Alaska State Troopers received a report from Andrey Budnik October 8, that his brother, Pavel, was assaulting his parents. Two troopers responded to the scene where they met Andrey, Pavel, and the parents in the yard. The dad was on top of Pavel, holding him down with the assistance of Andrey. Pavel was already handcuffed and had a rope tied around one of his legs. The troopers told Pavel not to resist, which Pavel promptly did. The two state troopers carried Pavel to the trooper’s vehicle. The dad spoke very little English but told the troopers Pavel came up to him and just started biting him. The dad did not understand any other questions, so the troopers left with Pavel. One of the troopers did notice a swollen injury on the father’s right forearm, a bloody injury on his left arm near the wrist, and an injury to his left ring finger. He also sustained injuries on his forehead, nose, and on his hands. A check on Pavel indicated he was on conditions of release, and also had two arrest warrants out for two separate court cases where he failed to appear. The charge of harassment was made when Pavel spit on a Community Service Officer.
