The Deltana Fair Board held its annual membership meeting Monday following what President Dana Mock described as a very successful Deltana Fair and Music Festival.
“We had a little catching up to do last year, financially wise, but we ended on a good note this year,” Mock said.
Treasurer Dan Stossmeister’s report showed a total of $52,662.13 distributed among multiple designated funds.
“We still have a few bills to pay, but very few,” Mock said. “This is what comes from the board making wise choices.”
The board also agreed to continue allowing the local cross-country ski club to use the fairgrounds. Brandy Baker, representing the local cross-country team, approached the board to request continued access for ski club activities and several potential community ski days.
During the membership meeting, Mock announced that Fair Manager Sonya Hartmann is resigning. The board plans to advertise for a replacement.
Board members Jason Corell and Lynnelle Buchanan also announced their intentions to resign. However, as nominations moved forward, members recommended that both retain their positions. Jennifer Smith was the only other person to express interest in serving on the board, submitting a letter requesting a position. With one seat still open, members unanimously voted to appoint Smith.
The appointment brought the board to its full complement of 10 members, making the president’s tie-breaking vote part of the board’s decision-making process.
Officers were also selected for the coming year. Dana Mock was reelected president, Jason Pugh will serve as vice president, Brett Stirling as secretary, and Dan Stossmeister will continue as treasurer.
The board reminded community members that it is time to renew their memberships.
“Thanks to Sonya Hartmann’s work on our website, it is incredibly easy to just go to the website and renew,” Mock said.
Annual memberships cost $25 for individuals and $50 for businesses. Lifetime memberships are available for $350. Memberships can be renewed online at deltanafair.com/membership.
The next Fair Board meeting is scheduled for Nov. 9 at 6 p.m. The meeting location has not yet been determined.
